Protea Real Estate donates R1000 to Bloem Shelter for every house sold by us. Bloem Shelter provides care and shelter for homeless men, women, the elderly and families in and around our beautiful city, Bloemfontein.
The young children in the shelter attend playgroups for their development; the bigger children attend schools in the area. These children are guided to further their qualifications after matric. There is also opportunity for adults to finish their matric via the ABET system. Training opportunities like computer training are available for every individual. They are also creatively stimulated by being taught to make lovely handcrafts.
The spiritual needs of the residents are also taken care of through, amongst others, Bible study and discipleship courses. Other services include occupational therapy, career guidance, psychology services and more.
Every R1000 provides shelter to a homeless person for 40 days!
